ALEXANDRIA, Va. Michael Fryzel’s six-year term on the NCUA Board expires Friday, but Fryzel said he plans to stay on until a successor is confirmed by the Senate.
Under the Federal CU Act, a member of the NCUA Board can continue to serve until the Senate confirms a successor. On Thursday Fryzel told Credit Union Journal he plans to continue to be “actively involved in all NCUA activities and operations until that time or until he decides to leave the Board.”
The Senate is poised to confirm one NCUA Board member, Richard Metsger, to fill the eight-month-old vacancy on the three-person panel. A successor for Fryzel has not been nominated.
Fryzel said he continues to review various options available to him for when he leaves NCUA, but has not made any decisions.
