EL PASO, Texas-GECU and the local Kinley's House Coffee & Teas are introducing a new concept-combining a credit union branch with a cafe. This is the first branch GECU has done in partnership with Kinley's Coffee House & Teas. The credit union said it expects the community will enjoy a first-of-a-kind experience, handling personal finances using personal teller machine technology in the same location as enjoying a meal and specially-brewed Kinley's teas.
"We are breaking ground on a new concept designed around people's lifestyles," said Crystal Long, president of the $2-billion credit union. "The new location features a warm, relaxing ambience and a mezzanine for free financial workshops. People will be able to enjoy conversation and refreshments. The latest technology will be available to conduct all financial needs with convenient, extended hours that complement Kinley's Tea House hours."
"Our tea house and credit union will be a place where locals can hang out, learn about finances, and actually be able to conduct their business. The design is focused on a relaxing, enjoyable experience every time and I am excited to be celebrating the groundbreaking," said Kinley Pon, owner of the tea house.
Groundbreaking ceremony for the new GECU + Kinley's Tea House will include an appearance by PayDirt Pete, UTEP ROTC, community and business leaders, and snacks and refreshments provided by Kinley's House Coffee & Teas.
