DES MOINES, Iowa – A man who robbed EdCo Community CU yesterday morning died a short while later after crashing the car he stole from one of the employees to make his getaway.

The suspect surprised two employees arriving to work around 7 am then followed them inside and robbed them at gunpoint.
The gunman stole a car that belonged to one of the employees and crashed it west of Des Moines as authorities gave chase, according to police.
Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to free the suspect's body and remove it yesterday morning.
"They were taking money out of the car," said a neighbor. 'It looked like a lot."
