SALT LAKE CITY – A man who robbed Goldenwest CU of almost $52,000 during a 2008 armed hold up with the help of a teller last week was sentenced to 56 months in prison.
Curtis Cordery, 20, had his red hair dyed black at an Ogden hair salon after the heist but his wife was able to identify him from footage of the robbery. Soon after, Cordery’s wife had their marriage annulled.
Co-defendant Jeffrey Nay, also 20, who worked as a teller at the credit union, last year was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Nay confessed he sent a text message July 3, 2008, telling Cordery that the credit union was clear. Cordery entered the building with a mask over his face and drew a black BB gun that resembled a semiautomatic handgun from his waistband, according to a written statement by Nay.
