Governor Joins Navy FCU At Groundbreaking

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush joined nearly 150 Escambia County, Fla. leaders to break ground on the Navy FCU's new member service center, the credit union's first expansion project outside of its Virginia-based headquarters. The "remote in-bound" call center will create 500 new jobs at the new facility in the Bell Heritage Oaks Commerce Park, located in Pensacola. "The expansion of Navy Federal Credit Union into Florida's Great Northwest sparks the beginning of a fruitful new relationship that will lend to the creation of hundreds of jobs in the area," said Gov. Bush. NFCU will construct a 55,000 square foot facility on a 19-acre site in the county's new industrial park. The capital investment in the project will be approximately $16 million. The credit union has optioned an additional 10 acres of land adjacent to its initial site for future expansion.
