Foundation Communities said it created the Safety Net Savings Program to encourage clients to establish and contribute to a savings account specifically intended to be used toward unexpected emergencies. In the 12-month program, clients will receive a variety of incentives for following guidelines and reaching savings goals.

The credit union has been the Foundation Communities Individual Development Account Program’s financial institution for over two years. It recently was invited to expand the partnership to add the Safety Net Savings Program.

Foundation Communities said it chose to partner with GTFCU for this initiative because it offers free and low-cost services to its membership.
