Heart O' Texas Federal Credit Union, a $55-million institution based in Waco, Tex., named Melissa Hagenbuch as its new president and CEO, effective Dec. 7.
Hagenbuch succeeds Mike Chaney, who is retiring.
The credit union's board of directors retained the services of Credit Union Resources, a part of the Cornerstone Credit Union League, to conduct the executive search.
"Melissa brings a broad background of credit union experience, and we are certain she will provide dynamic and effective leadership to our credit union for years to come," said board chairman Ronald Fritz in a statement.
Hagenbuch formerly served as vice president of member services at Energy Capital Credit Union, a $222-million institution based in Houston, Tex. In that capacity, she increased branch loan production by 45%.
Hagenbuch holds a B.S. in Business with a concentration in management from the University of Phoenix. She is also a graduate of CUNA Management School.
