Herb Wegner Award Winners for 2016 Named

The National Credit Union Foundation announced the following winners of the 2016 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards: CU 4 Reality (recognized for Outstanding Program); and William J. Bynum, C. Alan Peppers, and Daniel F. Egan (recognized for Outstanding Individual Achievement).

  • CU 4 Reality is specifically being recognized for the America's Credit Union Museum.
  • Bynum is the chief executive officer of Hope Credit Union, a $175-million institution based in Jackson, Miss.
  • Peppers is the former president and CEO of Westerra Credit Union (now a $1.3-billion institution based in Denver, Colo.)
  • Egan is the retired president and CEO of the Massachusetts Credit Union League, New Hampshire Credit Union League, and the Credit Union Association of Rhode Island (now known as the Cooperative Credit Union Association).

The awards will be presented at a special dinner hosted by the foundation at the Marriott Marquis on Feb. 22, 2016, in conjunction with CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference, in Washington.
