NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Illinois CU League has announced that Sean Hession will succeed the league's current president and CEO Dan Plauda.
Hession currently serves as president and CEO of Callahan & Associates in Washington, a position he has held for two years. Before that he worked for more than a decade with First National Bank of Omaha, holding multiple staff and operational positions.
Plauda announced in June 2012 that he would retire in June of 2012, and Hession is set to join the league on May 1, beginning a 60-day transition period during which he and Plauda will work together until the end of June.
Plauda has been with the Illinois league for more than 35 years, starting out as the league's first general counsel.
For his part, Hession has more than three decades of management experience, having also started a healthcare transaction processing firm prior to entering the banking and credit union industry.
