HOUSTON Promise Credit Union is partnering with Neighborhood Centers, Houston’s largest nonprofit, to offer the city’s 300,000 immigrants who are legal permanent residents “Citizenship Loans” that may be used to help them fund their naturalization applications, which can cost $700.
Applicant Requisites for the Citizenship Loan:
* All participants must be eligible to apply for naturalization.
* Applicants will be asked to submit a $75 fee for the naturalization application, a $75 fee to set up the loan and a $300 down payment with Promise CU.
* Applicants must provide at least four references. Additional credit references may be required.
Neighborhood Centers said its Citizenship and Immigration program is able to connect clients to services, education and resources in one location.
