Western Division Expands

BUFFALO, N.Y.-Western Division FCU said it has become the first CU in its region to be approved for a multi-county community charter by NCUA. Under the new charter, anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in Erie or Chautauqua Counties, is eligible to join. More than one-million people reside in the two counties. The credit union currently has 12,500 members drawn from more than 250 employer groups, churches, unions and associations. "Over the past 2 years we have been positioning our credit union to support growth by strengthening our infrastructure, expanding our management team and our Telephone Service Center," said CEO Craig Mellenthien.

MAX Sponsors All-Stars

MONTGOMERY, Ala.-MAX Credit Union has signed on to sponsor what will be called the MAX 2006 Southern League All-Star Baseball Game. For the first time in 33 years, the hometown Montgom-ery Biscuits are hosting the game. Montgomery Mayor Bobby Bright and team owner Tom Dickson joined with the CU in announcing the event, which will be held July 10, 2006.
