DES MOINES – Several credit unions have joined a new program by the state Treasurer, called Linked Investments for Tomorrow–LIFT-- that will help finance small business start-ups.

Credit union participation is being organized through Community Business Lenders, a CUSO specializing in member business loans. Among the first credit unions to sign on the program are Ace Community CU, in Ames, and Affinity CU, in Des Moines. Several others have applied to participate.
The MBL CUSO is owned by the Iowa CU League, Community Choice CU, of Johnston, and MEMBERS1st CU, of Marshalltown.
