BATON ROUGE, La. – A former loan processor for Ascension CU was convicted on charges she accepted $40,000 in bribes to prepare phony loan documents for $500,000 worth of loans.

Chaundra Jones, 29, accepted the funds from 37 credit union members to help them prepare and submit loan applications that would pass muster with the credit union, according to a grand jury indictment.
Wednesday, Jones pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and bribery. A sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.
