Dontae Lasker, 27, was sentenced to 10 years for the $9,500 robbery and his accomplice 24-year-old Davon Darden, was given seven years in prison. Both were active duty sergeants stationed at MCAS Miramar at the time.

Lasker is also charged with two counts of murder in Texas, unrelated to the bank robbery.

On October 30, 2010, the pair entered the branch wearing ski masks. Both of the men demanded money from two of the tellers at gunpoint. The tellers handed them more than $9,500 from the cash drawers, including several bait bills.

The two were arrested later that evening.

The FBI obtained confessions from both defendants. At the time of the offense, the defendants were enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and stationed at MCAS Miramar.
