Mark Robnett has been named the new CEO of Justice Federal Credit Union in Chantilly, Va., succeeding former CEO Pete Sainato, who is currently interim CEO at $239 million-asset Transportation FCU in Alexandria, Va.
Robnett has been serving as interim CEO since May. Previously he was the credit union’s executive vice president and chief information officer.
Justice FCU credited Robnett for playing “an important leadership role” in establishing the credit union’s operation center and restructuring and building its information technology team. Robnett initiated a “member service-driven” philosophy, which introduced the latest in technological advances such as biometric identification and facial recognition.
“Having had the opportunity to watch Mark perform as interim CEO at Justice FCU for several months, the board of directors is unanimous in its conviction that he is the right executive to lead Justice into the future,” the credit union’s board said in a statement emailed to Credit Union Journal. “Mark’s background in information technology complements his proven management abilities, and the board is delighted he has accepted the permanent position.”
Robnett began his career with Justice Federal in 2013 as vice president of information technology. His credit union experience was launched while working with industry financial software and solutions service providers Fiserv and Symitar, and as data center and operations manager with Y12 Federal Credit Union.

Before making the move to Justice Federal, Robnett worked for Willis North America, managing regional stakeholders to elicit changes to business processes and fit to information systems.
“The board's decision to appoint Mark was a unanimous one,” said Mary Ann Woodson, chair of the Justice Federal board. “We believe Mark is very much aligned with our values, culture, and shared vision for the organization. He brings a proven track record of success, with experience providing fiscal, strategic and operations leadership in uniquely challenging situations.”
“Enormous opportunity lies ahead for Justice Federal, and we could not be happier with Mark at the helm, helping us and our members achieve continued success,” Woodson added.
“I am honored by the board’s decision. My focus will be on keeping the organization future focused by leveraging, institutionalizing, and continually improving core capabilities,” said Robnett.
Justice FCU had $459,387 in net income in 2017, according to its call report. As of Dec. 31, 2017, its net worth ratio was 10.81 percent (“well capitalized”).
Robnett holds a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems from Oakland University, a Certified Chief Executive designation from CUES, Darden School of Business, Cornell University, and Wharton School of Business, and a Security Leadership Certification from GIAC, a provider of information security and cybersecurity certifications.
Robnett and his wife, Brooke, reside in Northern Virginia with their son and two daughters.
