YORK, Penn. – Members 1st FCU continued to thumb its nose at the bankers, in the face of this summer’s court-ordered roll-back of its field of membership, said it is opening another new branch here.

The fast-growing $1.5 billion credit union vowed to continue its expansion plans even after a federal court struck down a broad five-county community charter granted by NCUA, which rolled back the credit union’s field of membership to serving 1,000 select groups.
The newest branch will open Oct. 14 for members at the Giant Food Stores.
