Mich. CUs Raise $125K For PAC

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A Grand Raffle by the Michigan Credit Union League Legislative Action Fund raised nearly $125,000, some $30,000 more than was raised in 2006. Thirty-thousand tickets were distributed to 138 credit unions, and nearly 35,000 tickets were sold to both members and staff.

"Michigan credit unions have answered the call and given us an unbelievable year for the Grand Raffle and our federal PAC," said MCULLAF Chairman Howard Spencer. "This kind of success is a testament to how well the credit union community understands the importance of legislative advocacy, and also the quality relationship credit unions have with their members who purchased these tickets."

At the end of the 2006 cycle, MCULLAF was the second largest credit union federal PAC in the country, trailing only CUNA‚s own Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) in fundraising.
