FLINT, Mich. – Robert White, general manager of Flint Area School Employees' CU for more than 30 years, passed away Feb. 18 at the age of 81.

White began his career with the credit union as a part-time employee in 1957, and was hired as the credit union's first, full-time general manager in 1959. Under his management, Flint Area School Employees' CU grew from a $1.9 million credit union with just under 2,500 members to a $120 million institution with a membership of nearly 20,000 prior to his retirement in 1993.
White was active in the credit union movement and heavily involved in Michigan CU League committees and many activities of the league’s Flint chapter.
