Mil-Way CU Deploys Automated Safety Deposit Boxes

TEXARKANA, Ark. – Mil-Way Cu has implemented Diebold’s PassVault automated safety deposit box system, which allows members to access their valuables without the assistance of a teller.

The system uses biometric identification: a member places his or her hand on a wall-mounted hand reader which confirms the user’s identity, then matches the handprint with a stored print and admits the member to the safety deposit box room. The reader records the date and time of the visit for a permanent record.
