BALTIMORE – Municipal Employees CU paid its members the first half of its anticipated annual cash bonus of $4.2 million. Loan interest rebates and extraordinary dividends were deposited in members' accounts on June 30.

MECU of Baltimore has paid its members a cash bonus every year since 1981.
In 2007, the MECU board of directors decided to pay half the bonus in June and the second half in December because many of the credit union’s members are teachers who don’t get paid in the summer.
