National Federation of CDCUs rebrands

The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions on Tuesday relaunched itself under the new name Inclusiv.

What hasn’t change, the group said in a press release, is its essential mission: to help low- and moderate-income consumers and communities achieve financial independence through credit unions.

Cathie Mahon is CEO of Inclusiv

"For decades, the Federation and community development credit unions have been building trust and delivering relevant products to underserved people with dignity and respect,” said President and CEO Cathie Mahon. “Inclusiv will build on the 44-year legacy of the Federation to grow the visibility and impact of mission-driven credit unions."

Several of the organization’s various units will also see their names changed as a result of the rebrand. The Community Development Investment Program will now be known as Inclusiv/Capital, while the CDCU Mortgage Center is now Inclusive/Mortgage. Similarly, CU Breakthrough Consulting and Technical Assistance has been rechristened Inclusiv/Network, while CU Impact has updated its name to Inclusiv/Technology.

The Federation’s programs for helping underserved communities join the financial mainstream – including Juntos Avanzamos, the African-American Credit Union Initiative and Pathways to Financial Empowerment – are now all under the umbrella of Inclusiv/Communities.

Tuesday marks the first full day of Inclusiv’s annual conference in St. Petersburg, Fla. Credit Union Journal will be on-site to provide coverage.
