ALEXANDRIA, Va. - (03/31/06) NCUA said it has extended theavailability of disaster relief grants for credit union damaged byHurricane Katrina for another 180 days, until Sept. 30. Creditunions situated in the Gulf Coast states can apply for up to $2,500in disaster relief grants through the agencys CommunityDevelopment Revolving Loan Fund to help them resume operations.Qualifying credit unions, those designated as low-income, can alsoapply for up to $300,000 in 1% loans through the fund.
