ALEXANDRIA, Va. – NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz on Wednesday announced the hiring of Christopher Colford, a former journalist for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and long-time Washington hand, as a speech writer and senior advisor for communications.
Colford has served in senior positions for management consultants McKinsey and Co. and public relations firm Hill & Knowlton, and was an aide to then-Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt. He also worked on Capitol Hill as communications director for Congressman Thomas Sawyer (D-OH). Colford began his career as a journalist in Washington as an editorial writer and op-ed columnist for the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
