NCUA to Host 'Micro-Enterprise Lending' Webinar

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The National Credit Union Administration will host "Micro-Enterprise Lending: Making Loans to Small Business," a webinar designed to help credit unions learn how to assist small-business members.

The 90-minute free webinar starts at 2 p.m. Eastern on July 13 and will feature Tom Penna, an economic development specialist with NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives,

Panelists include William McMasters, an NCUA Region II regional lending specialist; Melissa Marquez, chief executive officer of Genesee Coop Federal Credit Union in Rochester, N.Y.; and Dan Kelley, chief financial officer and vice president of finance for Seaboard Federal Credit Union in Bucksport, Maine.

The panel will discuss various topics such as crafting a sound micro-enterprise business lending policy, distinguishing between micro-enterprise business loans and member business loans, understanding collateral requirements and expectations, and using best practices in collections, NCUA said in a press release Tuesday.
