ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Allan Meltzer, the low-key associate general counsel for NCUA, retired as chief of the agency’s litigation department at year end.
Meltzer, a Brooklyn-born, tobacco-chewing, country-western music lover, got his start working for the federal government as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate General, or JAG. He then worked for NCUA for more than 25 years.
NCUA promoted John Ianno, best known for his work defending NCUA in the bankers’ field of membership suits, to succeed Meltzer as head of litigation.
