John Kolhoff is set to head the Credit Union Commission of Texas starting in early December.

Kolhoff will succeed Harold Feeney, who is retiring, and will be the sixth commissioner in the agency’s 49-year history, according to a press release on Monday.
“After a thorough and thoughtful search process, we are thrilled to have Mr. Kolhoff join us as commissioner,” Allyson Morrow, the agency’s chair, said in a statement. “He brings a stellar leadership reputation, a wealth of credit union regulatory experience and a passion for credit unions – all of which are critical ingredients in the continued evolution of the Department.”
Kolhoff is currently director of the Office of Credit Unions at the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services where he is responsible for the safety and soundness supervision of 138 credit unions with roughly $50 billion of assets. He has been with the department since 1994. He is also chairman of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors.
