New Website Features Lease Deals From Across The Nation

CINCINNATI — Another sign that consumer interest in leasing is picking up, a new website has been launched that features dealer lease offers across the country.

WantAlease.com lets car shoppers search for deals locally and regionally, as well as nationally, explained Richard Joseph, co-founder of WantALease.com and Swapalease.com.

Swapalease.com connects consumers looking to exit a lease early with car shoppers wanting to pick up the remainder of someone's lease.

"Car leasing has certainly heated back up to pre-recession levels," said Joseph. "This is largely being driven by consumer demand as well as attractive offers at the dealership level."

Joseph said WantAlease.com fills a void in the market. "There currently is no online marketplace where consumers can shop for a new car lease deal, particularly one marketplace that showcases lease deals from dealers all over the country."

Car leasing popularity is at an all-time high, said Joseph, noting that it's time consumers can compare lease pricing online just like they can car prices. "Car shoppers want to compare lease prices in an environment that's convenient for them."

Melinda Zabritski, senior director of automotive credit for Experian, in a previous report, told Credit Union Journal that leasing now represents 27% of all new car sales, up from historical averages of 23% to 24%. "Leasing is certainly taking off, with payments on average of about $50 less than what we see on a loan."
