Alliant CU donated nine gallons of leftover ice cream to a local non-profit facility that helps developmentally disabled children and adults. The ice cream was leftover from an employee ice cream social that the CU refers to as "Sundaes on Tuesday with Mooney," a combination of the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" and the name of ACU's President, David Mooney. The ice cream social was to reward employees for hard work and for enduring the ongoing heat wave. But after senior management, attired in tie-dyed Ben and Jerry shirts, had scooped 125 sundaes in two hours, event planners found themselves with an excess of nine gallons of ice cream, six cans of whipped cream, chocolate and caramel syrup, cherries and a half-dozen containers of rainbow sprinkles. One hour after contacting the Clearbrook facility, Director of Development Bonnie O'Brien was at the CU and returning to the 92-bed Clearbrook facility with the ice cream supplies.
