Today is the last day that credit unions, credit union service organizations and industry groups can submit nominations for the 2019 Best Practices Awards. The nominations close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.

This free program is one of CUJ's most popular annual features because it focuses on the one metric that really matters to growth-oriented institutions: results.

Credit unions have always been a collaborative movement, and every year CU Journal highlights some of the best ideas the industry has to offer, recognizing real accomplishments and focusing on innovative strategies, policies, products, services and procedures with a demonstrable track record of success.

“The Best Practices Awards is one of the features that makes Credit Union Journal what it is,” said Editor Aaron Passman. “We’ve been doing this feature for well over a decade and we always see a tremendous response from readers, because it gets to the heart of what credit unions are about: collaboration. This has always been an opportunity for credit unions to showcase successful practices at their own shops that can be implemented by other institutions.”

Any credit union can apply, and CUs may nominate themselves, though CUSOs, vendors and other industry partners are also welcome to nominate specific institutions. Credit unions may be nominated in multiple categories, though each nomination should fit in with one of the following categories:

  • Membership growth
  • Staffing/recruitment
  • Efficiencies
  • Cybersecurity/fraud reduction
  • Lending
  • Deposit growth
  • Digital banking
  • Branching
  • Wild card

Please ensure your nomination answers the following questions:

  • What is the program?
  • When was it implemented? (All entries must have been put in place no earlier than May 1, 2018).
  • Why did you make this change?
  • What specific results/ROI did you see?

Nominations should be no longer than 500 words and should be sent to Editor Aaron Passman at Aaron.Passman@sourcemedia.com.

Winners will be revealed on CUJournal.com during November.
