North Carolina’s Blue Flame CU’s CEO Retires Ends 37 Years In CUs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Blue Flame CU, the credit union for employees of Piedmont Natural Gas and Heritage Propane, said Benjamin Hill, its CEO since 1990, retired June 28 from the $37 million credit union, ending a 37-year career in the credit union movement.

Hill served on the North Carolina CU Commission from 1992 to 1995 and as chairman of the North Carolina CU League from 2006 to 2010.

Hill, who began his credit union career in 1976 at State Employees’ CU, also served as director of the Carolinas CU Foundation and has worked on international credit union development in Mexico.
