Nusenda Credit Union makes interim CEO its permanent leader

Nusenda Credit Union in Albuquerque, N.M., has appointed Joe Christian as its president and CEO.

Joe Christian is CEO of Nusenda

Christian was named interim CEO following the sudden resignation of former CEO Terry Laudick earlier this year.

Christian has worked at the $2.4 billion-asset Nusenda for more than three decades, holding various executive positions, including executive vice president of operations, chief operations officer, chief administrative officer and senior vice president of information systems.

“It’s an honor to be part of the leadership team of one of the best organizations in New Mexico,” Christian said in a statement.

Nusenda posted net income of about $9.1 million in the first quarter of 2019, a 45% increase from the same quarter in 2018. Over that period, total interest income jumped from about $19.5 million to $23.9 million.
