FREDERICK, Md.—NCUA has granted a charter expansion to Nymeo FCU here, allowing it to expand its services to the community throughout Frederick.
"We are excited that all of Frederick County can now take advantage of our services," CEO Victoria Johnson said in a statement. "Our vision is to reach out to the community and provide a much needed alternative to big banks."
The charter change at the $245 million credit union follows on the heels of a rebranding last year, when the CU changed its name from COMSTAR FCU to Nymeo (an anagram of the word "money") as part of a move to expand its member base and eliminate confusion about what the institution is and who it serves.
Since that time it has also remodeled some branches and revamped its ATM network.
