BEAVERTON, Ore. -
* Wauna FCU has established donation accounts for both Clatsop and Columbia counties, and in just over a week received nearly $100,000 in donations. WCU is working with emergency service officials to distribute funds.
* TLC FCU, Tillamook, Ore., placed security guards at branches during the power outage to allow members to withdraw cash, since most ATMs weren’t working.
* St. Helens Community FCU, St. Helens, Ore., joined forces with the sheriff’s office to man donation stations in the floodwaters’ wake. The credit union also collected donations in each of its branches, and helped coordinate media efforts.
* Rivermark Community CU deposited $100 into the accounts of members that live in Vernonia (one of the hardest hit cities) and offered a skip-a-payment option.
