TULSA, Okla. – A paper airplane against the backdrop of modern planes taking off from Tinker Air Force Base–in steel sculpture–will greet members of Tinker FCU, part of the 60th anniversary celebration for Oklahoma’s largest credit union.

The likeness was aimed at capturing banking, aviation and the 60 years of member service for the $1.5 billion credit union. The image was crafted by Joseph Daun, an arts professor at the University of Central Oklahoma. The credit union commissioned the work in August and the sculpture was unveiled last week. In compensation for the work, Tinker FCU contributed $10,000 towards the endowment of a scholarship at the University’s Collage of Arts, Media and Design.
