SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A woman on parole for check fraud pleaded guilty Thursday to felony bank fraud and identity theft charges for a kiting scheme she operated between The Golden 1 CU and two banks.

Idalina Toste, 39, was accused of using stolen Social Security numbers from several victims to open bank and credit union accounts. She deposited forged and fictitious checks, payable to herself and her alternate identities, to steal federally insured bank and credit union money, according to authorities.
The scheme involved about $20,000.
