“Going forward, NAFCU will continue to have a relentless focus on our members. They are job one,” said Berger, NAFCU’s chief lobbyist who succeeded Fred Becker. Becker retired after 13 years as CEO.

Berger set three key priorities for NAFCU:

* Manage the association with financial prudence

* Continue to aggressively serve as credit unions’ chief advocate with NCUA, the CFPB, key members of Congress and the White House, and

* Invest in state-of-the-art technology, and expanding education and training programs for credit unions.

Berger joined NAFCU as chief lobbyist in 2006. He has been a commentator on Fox News, CNBC and CNN, and is quoted regularly in the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and other financial services publications.
