PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Pittsburgh Teachers CU said yesterday it is shedding its educational identity in order to serve the whole south side of Pittsburgh, and changing its name to Riverset CU, to reflect the broader market.

The new field of membership, which must be approved by state regulators, will encompass the portion of Pittsburgh bounded by the Ohio and Monongahela rivers, beginning at the West End Bridge to Becks Run Rd. on the south and West Carson St. on the West.
The $80 million credit union currently serves employees and retired employees of the Pittsburgh Board of Education and a variety of select group.
