Progeny Marketing Innovations, as part of an effort to tap into small business services, said it is extending the scope of its business into the insurance, utilities and telecommunications industries. Progeny said its new small business program will enhance and strengthen its relationship with financial institutions and build loyalty with their customers/members.
Progeny cited statistics showing 80% of the nation's 12-million businesses are small businesses (having fewer than 20 employees), and that some 250,000 small businesses open each month.

Progeny said as part of its new strategy it is reaching out to this small business sector by strengthening its relationship with parent Cendant Corp. and leveraging its diverse range of brand offerings. One example is a customized small business discount for Avis rental cars, part of Cendant's vehicle services division. Other small business benefits include a menu of financial products such as travel insurance and retirement plans, as well as discounts on everything that makes businesses work: overnight deliveries, travel, car rental, business equipment, computer equipment, office products and more. It will also promote "Wellness Extras," which offers preferred pricing on a menu of health services and products including vision, dental, hearing, mail order pharmacy, a nurse hotline and medical ID tag. It will also offer fraud protection and security benefits.
Progeny said that as part of its package, businesses can utilize a free check collection service or tap into common carrier insurance that offers accident coverage whenever traveling or on commercial airline, train, bus or taxi. There are also discounts on computer equipment to PDAs, and technical support on computer hardware and software needs.
