Question Over Where Credit Unions ShouldStand On Freddie, Fannie

WASHINGTON - (03/30/05)–CUNA is using the congressionalrecess as time to work on determining what position credit unionsshould take on the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac accountingirregularities as hearings examining the government sponsoredenterprises are expected to continue. The trade association is alsolooking to offer more of the advocacy and media training that wasinitially unveiled at CUNA’s GAC. While that first trainingsegment was geared towards league personnel, CUNA’s RichardGose said future segments will be open to board members, CU staffand anyone who regularly participates in lobbying efforts like HikeThe Hill.
