SAN FRANCISCO-A man who said he robbed Patelco CU last week returned the stolen $1,200 to a priest in confession, refused to give himself up.

The man walked into Saint John Vianney's Catholic Church the night of July 26 and told a priest during confession that he robbed the credit union on Thursday afternoon and left after giving the priest $1,200. After he left, the priest called police.
"He said he felt remorse," a Walnut Police detective said of the repentant thief.
Police are still seeking the robber.
