SAN ANTONIO, Texas - (05/20/05) -- San Antonio Alternative HousingCorp. and San Antonio CU cut the ribbon this week on a 133-unitaffordable-housing project that will be financed by the $2 billioncredit union. All the homes to be built in the Palo Alto AffordableHousing Subdivision will qualify for special mortgage financingunder the Smart CommuteTM initiative, a project that makeshomebuyers near mass transit eligible for higher loans. Otherpartners in the project are Frost Bank, the CHRISTUS Foundation.The city of San Antonio and Bexar County are providinginfrastructure funds.
