SAN ANTONIO – Security Service FCU announced this morning it signed with Tyfone for mobile banking services, including core integrated mobile banking, layered mobile security, iCashe mobile wallet and ultimately, in-store payments within the next few quarters.
“Tyfone has a unique perspective on the features and functions that are relevant to consumers as the technology matures and the reality of person-to-person payments, near field communications and a suite of digital wallet services become commonplace,” said John Worthington, senior vice president of corporate communications for the $7 billion credit union, the eighth largest in the country.
Security Service joins several other credit union giants contracting for Tyfone’s mobile services, including OnPoint Community CU, Star One CU, CoVantage CU and RTN FCU.
Tyfone's u4ia mobile platform will be hosted in the cloud to enable secure Mobile Banking and iCashe Mobile Wallet services. The iCashe Mobile Wallet will be capable of contactless payments with near field communications as well as cloud payments and strong authentication ID management without NFC, providing Security Service a comprehensive mobile solution set.
In addition to standard mobile banking features such as checking balance, account history review, fund transfers, branch and ATM location lookup, customizable alerts, and bill pay, Tyfone's mobile banking offers the ability to enroll and customize mobile banking via a mobile device (with no computer or online banking account necessary), send and receive digital gift cards for a broad network of retailers, as well as other mobile wallet capabilities.
Tyfone is based in Portland, Ore.
