Servicer Jailed For Stealing FromATMs

SAN DIEGO - (01/25/06) -- A former employee at an ATMservicing company was sentenced to four years in prison Monday forstealing $2.1 million from ATMs and cash vaults he was servicingfor Mission FCU. Jacob Johnson, who pleaded guilty last August toembezzlement charges, was also ordered to pay restitution to the $2billion credit union. Johnson worked for Advanced Networks Inc. andhad exclusive access to ATMs and cash vaults at the credit union'sbranches that he serviced. He confessed to misappropriating thefunds and using its for personal expenses between Dec. 2000 andOct. 2004. Johnson tried to hide the scheme by submitting falsebalance sheets to his company.
