State Regulator Approves Dutch Point CU’s Deal For Capital Region FCU

WETHERSFIELD, Conn. – State regulators okayed the merger of struggling, $32-million Capital Region FCU into $200-million Dutch Point CU.

Dutch Point originally served employees of Hartford Electric Light Co. It now serves residents of Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven and New London counties. Capital Region FCU was chartered in 1954 to serve West Hartford Fire Fighters and now serves more than 100 select groups.

Capitol Region FCU has reported losses the past five years and for the first quarter of 2013.

The merger is scheduled for October of this year.
