PHOENIX – SunWest FCU was ordered by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission yesterday to pay $250,000 to two employees who said they were subjected to sexual and gender harassment by a former manager.

The EEOC found that the credit union manager harassed the women by leering at them, touching them without their consent, referring to them in derogatory terms, and yelling at and intimidating them.
In addition to the monetary payment, the credit union will provide training and other relief aimed at educating its employees about sexual harassment and retaliation, and their rights under equal opportunity laws.
