CUISPA Adds Podcasts
AUSTIN, Texas–The Credit Union Information Security Professionals Association (CUISPA) has begun to offer podcasts to help credit union IT security officers stay informed on the latest IT security issues within the credit union industry.
The CUISPA Podcasts are available to all credit unions for free at www.cuispa.org. CUISPA said it plans to make the security Podcasts an ongoing educational program available for free to the entire credit union IT community.

SAFE Wins Best Site Award
SACRAMENTO, Calif.–SAFE Credit Union of Sacramento won the “Best Credit Union Website” award for 2007 at the Web Marketing Association’s 10th annual WebAward Competition.
The 120,000 member CU competed with more than 2,400 sites from 40 countries in 96 industry categories and was judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.

Winners Vs. Losers
CUPERTINO, Calif.–New research has found firms that excel at protecting sensitive data also perform well on regulatory compliance audits. Not surprisingly, organizations with the most loss of sensitive data are the same organizations with the largest number of regulatory compliance deficiencies, according to the IT Policy Compliance Group, which analyzed responses from more than 450 organizations worldwide. Overall, it found just one in 10 can adequately protect sensitive data. Additionally, the report identified operational practices that distinguish firms with the least amount of data loss (leaders) from those with the most (laggards).
