The entry came from Elizabeth Tuiaana, who described the "Date Night" she and her mother, Lusia, shared:

Breakfast for dinner at Madison's Family Restaurant: $14.63Has art, Big Breakfast.png Mom wasn't in the mood for a heavy dinner and since the date was all about her, she chose her favorite family restaurant, Madison's, in Del City. For $14.63 we received quite a deal for dinner. Mom ordered the Big Country Breakfast (pancakes, eggs, bacon & grits) and I treated myself to the waffle special (a HUGE Belgian waffle, eggs, and sausage links and patties). It was a perfect way to start our date.

Frozen Yogurt with all the Toppings a Girl Could Want at Pink Swirls: $5.32Has art, FrozenYogurt.png Only a hop, skip and jump away, mom and I headed over to Midwest City for a delicious and healthy (what I call) yumminess in a cup. I love watching my mom's face light up when I bring her here. It's like a kid in the candy store and she has such a great time deciding what flavor frozen yogurt to pick and what toppings to choose from. This time we decided on the small cup because dinner was so filling.

Mom decided on a cup of vanilla yumminess with toasted almonds, fresh mango, fresh strawberries, chocolate chips, and chocolate chip cookies. I'm not sure how that all goes together or how it tastes because I just enjoyed watching her go crazy with toppings. I stuck with the vanilla/chocolate swirl with almonds and chocolate chip cookies.

Fun with a Nice return at Kickapoo Casino: $20Has art, Kickpoo Casino, png "Mom, so what do you want to do for fun and laughter?" I say and with a smile. She simply says, "Let's go make a donation." It was a beautiful drive in the sunset through the towns of Nicoma Park, Choctaw and Harrah. It was our first time through these towns and to this casino. With $10 for each of us, it amazingly kept us at the casino for about 40 minutes. My kind of luck would have had us in and out in about five minutes. My huge winning ticket of the night paid me a grand total of $0.32. Mom, on the other hand, turned her $10 donation into $53.50 in winnings (this is the same woman who told me, "I don't know what I'm looking at, I just press the button so I can see the pictures spin.") Mom is currently fighting her second bout with leiomyosarcoma cancer and one of the side effects of chemotherapy is hair loss. The finale of this wonderful date was letting my mom spend her winnings on a couple new hairdos at a wig shop.

Other Date Night Challenge Finalists:Cody and Amanda started with a visit to the Oklahoma Firefighters Museum (Cody is a firefighter in Norman, Okla.), followed by dinner at McNellie's Abner Ale House, an Irish pub in Norman, and then cupcakes for dessert at Pinkitzel in Bricktown. Total spent: $36.59.

Mark and Diana noted they have been married 33 years and have six children, and Mark confessed to a reputation for being "notoriously thrifty, some might even say cheap." Keeping with the thrifty theme, the couple used a Groupon to get two complete dinners at Oklahoma Station BBQ for just $10, plus $4.51 tax and tip. They took in a college ice hockey game, then finished the evening with a two-for-one coupon at Cheesecake Factory. Total spent: $36.51.

Anne and Gabriel had enchilada combos at Tacos San Pedro, followed by coffee and cupcakes at Cuppies & Joe. At Bricktown Brewery they played two games of pool for $2 and got free entertainment from a musician who was playing downstairs. Total spent: $31.01.
