Yet a number of credit union industry analysts are optimistic about 2008, and some even see opportunities for credit unions in the year ahead.

The year ahead should see continued softening in auto lending, mortgages and home equity loans, but a rise in consumer loans and credit card use, according to a panel of experts who shared their insights with Credit Union Journal.
