Unity One Credit Union in Texas names new CEO

Unity One Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas, has named Scott Ward as its chief executive.

Ward has been with the $307 million-asset credit union for roughly 34 years and was most recently its president. He succeeds former CEO Gary Williams, who retired on Jan.31.

“We are very fortunate and pleased to have someone with as much experience, capability and knowledge as Scott to be appointed to the CEO position at Unity One Credit Union," Vince Accardo, chairman for Unity One, said in a press release on Tuesday. "In addition to a deep understanding of the operations of Unity One, he is very focused on the overall credit union membership experience.”

Founded in 1927 for the employees and family members of Great Northern Railroad, Unity One currently serves over 31,000 members in the communities of Fort Worth, Texas, Kansas City, Kansas, and St. Paul, Minnesota.

“I am humbled and honored that the Unity One Credit Union board of directors has entrusted me with the future of this credit union … we have plenty of opportunities ahead of us in the coming years,” Ward said in the release.
