UVA Community Credit Union in Virginia names new CEO

UVA Community Credit Union in Charlottesville, Virginia, named Susan M. Gruber its next president and chief executive.

The $1.4 billion-asset credit union selected Gruber, who was most recently executive vice president and chief financial officer of the $9 billion-asset Patelco Credit Union in Dublin, California, to succeed longtime leader Alison DeTuncq.

DeTuncq announced she would retire last year after a 32-year tenure with the credit union.

“Overall, Susan brings us more than 30 years of experience as a collaborative leader who focuses on teamwork and member experience. … She has a deep commitment to the mission driven nature of the Credit Union movement,” Jeffrey C. Moscicki, chair of UVA’s board, said in a press release.

Outside of her work within financial institutions, Gruber has been involved with nonprofit organizations such as Habitat For Humanity and the Children's Miracle Network Fundraiser.
